Ulf Angelin is a Managing Director at Balmoral Advisors, where he focuses on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory assignments across the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) sector. He brings more than 25 years of experience spanning engineering, operational leadership, corporate development, finance, and investment banking, advising entrepreneurs, private equity firms, institutional investors, and multinational corporations on complex transactions around the world.

Ulf began his career in engineering, professional services, sales, and operational leadership roles at Ericsson, supporting telecommunications operators and enterprise customers. This foundation provides him with a practical understanding of the technologies, infrastructure, and business models that underpin many of the industries he advises today.

Over the course of his career, Ulf has advised on more than 80 transactions representing over $15 billion in aggregate value across more than 25 countries throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. A native of Sweden, he has developed an extensive network of corporate and financial relationships throughout the Nordic region and broader international markets.

Prior to joining Balmoral, Ulf held senior TMT investment banking positions at UBS Investment Bank, BDO Capital, Alantra, and Oberon Securities. He has also served in corporate development, operational finance, principal investing, and as interim CFO of a public SaaS company, providing firsthand insight into the strategic, operational, and financial considerations faced by business owners and investors. His unique combination of technical, operating, and financial experience enables him to bridge the gap between technology innovation and strategic transaction execution.

Ulf’s expertise includes sell-side and buy-side M&A, corporate divestitures, carve-outs, strategic partnerships, growth capital, recapitalizations, and board-level strategic advisory.

Ulf holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lund University and an International MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, including studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has also pursued advanced studies in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning through MIT Professional Education. He is a FINRA-registered investment banking professional.
